Icy roads leads to more fender benders on North Whidbey

North Whidbey Fire and Rescue is seeing an increase recently in fender benders and cars leaving the road because of frosty and icy conditions, said Chief Mike Brown.

Thursday morning, cars went off the road at Silver Lake Road and near the intersection of Monkey Hill Road and Highway 20. No one was hurt in either incident. Brown said it’s not clear if the weather played a part in these accidents this morning. It’s a reminder to take it easy.

“It was bad this morning,” he said. “I was slipping and sliding around intersections. It would be nice if drivers drove more easily.”
