Island County forum is Monday

Do you have suggestions about how Island County can deal with a $1.2 million budget gap? Are there county programs that should be protected or dismantled? Are you mad and you don’t want to take it anymore?

The board of Island County commissioners is holding the first in a series of public forums Monday, June 21 at 6 p.m. in the board’s hearing room in the basement of the County Annex Building, 1 NE Sixth St., Coupeville.

Commissioners Angie Homola, Helen Price Johnson and John Dean urge residents from all over the county to attend and participate in the dialogue. Other such forums will be held on Camano, South Whidbey and North Whidbey.

Price Johnson said the aim of the forums is to “solicit ideas and hear general concerns about local communities.”
