The following items were selected from reports made to the Island County Sheriff’s Office:

Monday, March 2

At 9:39 a.m., a caller reported that horses on the corner of Frostad and Taylor roads were neglected and skinny.

Sunday, March 1

At 7:03 a.m., a caller reported that two bald eagles were tangled together off of Highway 20 near W. Troxell Road. The caller said they looked like they were going to die. A deputy and a game agent responded. The eagles got scared and starting flapping around when the people approached and managed to untangle themselves. They flew away.

At 3:02 p.m., a resident of Sawmill Road reported that his $3,000 mountain bike was stolen from inside a locked building, but the building wasn’t damaged.

At 9:11 p.m., a caller reported that cars were racing on West Beach Road.

Saturday, March 28

At 2:53 p.m., a man reported that someone put a wallet on the hood of his truck parked on Ault Field Road.

At 5:40 p.m., a caller reported that kids were shooting BB guns at trails off Oak Harbor Road.

Friday, March 27

At 1:58 a.m., a caller on Wandering Lane reported that her friend was being hostile.

At 3:18 p.m., a caller reported that an aggressive dog was left at a vacant home on Bonnie View Acres Road. The dog bit another dog and charges people that approach.

At 10:36 p.m., there was a report that a man was walking along Crosby, hitting mailboxes.

Thursday, Feb. 26

At 7:10 a.m., an Orchard Loop resident reported that the house was broken into overnight. The back door was broken.

At 8:19 a.m., a N. Pheasant Run Road resident reported that a deer in the yard needed to be “dispatched.” The caller asked a deputy to help.

At 9:39 a.m., a resident reported that her daughter’s two small dogs were attacked by a large black dog on Olympic Drive.

At 10:48 a.m., a caller on Schay Road wanted to ask a deputy about the laws regarding statutory rape.

At 11:51 a.m., a caller reported that a Great Dane was tied to a tree in the snow without shelter at a Oak Harbor Road home. The caller said the dog is neglected all the time.

At 4:09 p.m., a caller reported a case of embezzlement and elderly abuse on Rickover Drive.

Wednesday, Feb. 25

At 8:24 a.m., there was a report of a small calf running down Ducken Road.

At 10:10 a.m., a caller reported that a Great Dane was on a very short leash wrapped around a tree on Oak Harbor Road. The caller said the dog is outside in the rain all the time and doesn’t even have room to stretch.

At 2:32 p.m., a caller reported that a man, possibly intoxicated, had fallen alongside Monkey Hill Road.

At 4:38 p.m., an Oak Harbor Road resident reported that he returned home to find his bedroom ransacked and items missing.

At 7:23 p.m., a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend threatened to burn any mail for her that comes to his home, which is her former residence.

Tuesday, Feb. 24

At 11:47 a.m., a W. Troxell Road resident reported an ongoing problem with a green Jaguar speeding and driving recklessly in the area.

At 1:53 p.m., a member of Navy security reported that two occupants of a blue Suzuki were acting suspicious on Monkey Hill Road. They were driving very slowly and seemed to be watching the flight pattern and were looking at the Humvees parked along the road.

At 3:41 p.m., a caller reported that someone put a freezer from a vacant house in a driveway on Olympic View. The caller was worried because kids walking home from school were opening and closing the door.
