The following items were selected from reports made to the Island County Sheriff’s Office:
Thursday, Oct. 25
At 2:16 a.m., a Taylor Road resident reported that she was closing her drapes and saw a strange man looking in the window. She said the man was in his late 20s or early 30s.
At 1:39 p.m., a W. Troxell Road resident reported possible dog attacks on her cattle. She said seven cattle were attacked and she doesn’t think coyotes were involved.
At 3:32 p.m., an Appian Way resident reported that a loose pitbull was in her yard trying to attack her.
Friday, Oct. 26
At 9 a.m., a Bertha Place resident reported that someone broke into his car and stole a cell phone and other stuff.
At 5:14 p.m., a Whispering Pine Lane resident reported that she received a piece of mail in a plastic covering and after she opened it she noticed a film on her hands.
At 9:09 p.m., a driver reported that a man was standing in the middle of W. Troxell Road smoking a cigarette. The driver said the man wouldn’t answer questions or move out of the way, but just stood there. Smoking.
Saturday, Oct. 27
At 1:41 p.m., an El Pozo Street resident reported that two loose dogs tried to attack her kids in her yard.
Sunday, Oct. 28
At 12:20 a.m., a Deception Circle resident reported that her home was broken into.
At 12:54 p.m., a caller reported that two Middle Eastern-looking men seemed lost near the Midget Market.
At 2:55 p.m., a Monkey Hill Road resident reported that a woman entered his home without permission and refused to leave. A complaint was taken.
Monday, Oct. 29
At 10:20 a.m., a caller reported that there were mutilated deer and a rabbit near a parking area on Dike Road.
At 4:06 p.m., a caller reported that seven Middle Eastern males were taking picture of Deception Pass bridge.
At 5:07 p.m., a Victoria Way resident reported that his car was egged.
At 8:04 p.m., a Salal Street resident reported that loose pigs on his property caused damage.
Tuesday, Oct. 30
At 1:52 a.m., a Whitney Drive resident reported that he got into a confrontation with a man at a bar and the man followed him home and tried to get into his house.
At 6:19 a.m., a Noble Place resident reported that his stereo and DVD were stolen from his car.
Oak Harbor Police

Sunday, Oct. 21
At 9:30 p.m., a caller on NE Ernst Street had questions about if a man in the neighborhood was a registered sex offender.
At 10:19 p.m., a caller reported getting annoying phone calls.
Monday, Oct. 22
At 2:21 p.m., a person on NE Fourth Street had a set of walkie talkies a student stole from the Navy Exchange. NAS Security said to report it to Oak Harbor Police.
At 4:17 p.m., a caller said a group of teenagers was at a dead tree at a deadend on SW 10th Street. The caller said the kids were laughing and smoking and had previously set the tree on fire.
At 5:09 p.m., a caller said three Arabic men were at a hotel on SE Pioneer Way.
At 5:40 p.m., a person on NE Sixth Street reported getting suspicious mail with no return address and a scribbled name and mailing address.
Thursday, Oct. 25
At 2:45 p.m., a business on SE Bayshore Drive reported receiving a disturbing envelope from a former client. The envelope was covered with threatening words.
At 11:58 p.m., a caller reported that the Field House at Oak Harbor High School on NW Second Avenue had graffiti about Coupeville High School written in chalk.
Friday, Oct. 26
At 4:58 a.m., a caller on NE Izett Street thought a prowler might be in the residence. The caller could hear slamming and breaking.
At 6:26 p.m., a person at SE City Beach Street at the Post Office reporting receiving a suspicious envelope that seemed to be wet. The caller stuffed the envelope back into the post office box.
At 8:40 a.m., security caught a man crawling out from under a fence on NE Regatta Drive and NE Eighth Avenue. The man was wearing a black turban and had several backpacks. A base spokesperson said the suspicious person turned out to be a homeless man who was wearing underwear on his head.
At 9:23 a.m., a person calling from Oak Harbor Marina on SE Catalina Drive said a boat was taking on water and the marina couldn’t get in touch with the boat’s owner.
At 12:08 p.m., a caller reported three teenagers were changing clothes in bushes at East Whidbey Avenue and NE Regatta Drive.
At 12:45 p.m., NAS Security had a man in custody for breaking and entering at Forrestal Drive. The man was wanted by Oak Harbor Police.
At 1:44 p.m., a person on SE Pioneer Way said two men who appeared to be Middle Eastern had been in a store asking questions about the base.
At 2 p.m., a caller said a baby bobcat was trying to get out of a car in the parking lot of Wal-Mart on SW Erie Street. The caller said the bobcat was not a happy bobcat.
At 3:17 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a possible case of child abuse at a residence on NW Hiyu Drive.
At 11:07 p.m., a man was arrested on DUI charges at North Oak Harbor Street and East Whidbey Avenue.
At 11:52 p.m., a caller reported being assaulted and receiving death threats on NW Crosby.
At 12:06 p.m., a person reported juveniles were drinking at a party on NE O’Leary Street. The caller said a 21-year-old man was supplying the underage drinkers.
Saturday, Oct. 27
At 1:57 a.m., a caller reported a fight on SE Pioneer Way.
At 2 a.m., a man was arrested on NE O’Leary Street for supplying minors with alcohol and obstruction.
At 2:55 a.m., a caller complained a vehicle was parked in his parking stall on West Whidbey Avenue. The caller also complained that people in the vehicle were having sex.
At 7:30 a.m., a resident on SW Robertson Drive and SW Stroops Drive requested extra patrols because neighbors had been talking about a group of juveniles in dark clothes and dark hoods were going around the neighborhood asking questions between 1 and 3 a.m.
At 3:25 p.m., a person said someone had tried to break into a vehicle on SW Erie Street.
At 4:58 p.m., a girl said her father had punched her in the jaw and kicked her out of a vehicle on SW Erie Street.
At 6:06 p.m., an assault was reported in a parking lot on Highway 20. The caller said four women jumped out of a car and beat up another woman.
At 7:12 p.m., a caller on SE Bayshore Drive reported hearing a man screaming for help.
At 10:02 p.m., a person on NW Hyak Drive reported chasing a group of juveniles away from a car. The caller felt the kids might be trying to siphon gas.
At 11:15 p.m., a caller on SW Fourth Drive said a man was yelling obscenities.
Sunday, Oct. 28
At 11:23 a.m., a caller on SW Dyer Street reported finding the insides of a bird in their mailbox. The caller said the innards were placed on top of mail already in the box.
At 12:54 p.m., a caller reported seeing two Middle Eastern men who appeared to be lost driving on Highway 20. The caller had the license of the car.
At 1:48 p.m., a parent on SW Castilian Way reported their son had been chatting on the Internet with a person who indicated he was a Muslim and who had made a threat against the American people and stated he was “on a mission.” The concerned parent had tried to get in touch with AOL but had not had any luck.
At 4:03 p.m., a skateboarder reported being hit and having a skateboard stolen at the skate park on SE Jerome Street.
At 5:15 p.m., a person on SW Harrier Circle reported smelling a strange, “acidy” aroma coming from a nearby apartment. The caller said the neighbors were not home and wondered if something could be burning.
At 5:33 p.m., a caller complained that a group of kids were jumping in front of cars on NW Third and NW Ensign drives.
Coupeville Police
The following items were selected from reports made to the Coupeville Police Department:
Monday, Oct. 15
At 7 p.m., a man was arrested for hit and run. A northbound Island Transit bus ran into the bus stop on South Main Street, No one was injured. Glass was all over the road and the bus left heading into Coupeville.
Monday, Oct. 16
At 5:21 p.m., a caller on N Main Street reported the theft of a fire helmet.
Saturday, Oct. 20
At 10:48 a.m., a caller reported seeing two dark-skinned men in the hallway at a location on NW Front Street. The woman said the men were videotaping the town. She asked if she could help them and the men said they were just taking pictures. The woman said the men had accents and seemed nervous. The men left going eastbound on Front Street.
Sunday, Oct. 21
At 9:22 a.m., a caller reported two white semi-trucks driven by Middle Eastern men just got off Keystone ferry.
At 10:48 a.m., a caller reported a sailboat had been left unoccupied since Oct. 9.
Monday, Oct. 22
At 1:28 p.m., a man said he was just in Town Park and the storage unit below the music pavilion appeared to have been broken into.
At 1:30 p.m., a person on NE Moore Place reported a suspicious circumstance. The caller had received a suspicious envelope. The woman had not opened the mail and wanted to know what to do with it.
At 3:51 p.m., a man was arrested on S Main Street for driving while license suspended/revoked.
Tuesday, Oct. 23
At 6:09 a.m., a caller said a bat was flying in a house on SW Terry Road. At 6:30 a.m., another call from the same home reported a tarp was flying around, not a bat.
Wednesday, Oct. 24
At 1:28 p.m, a caller on N Main Street reported receiving a suspicious envelope from Reader’s Digest.
At 3:04 p.m., a caller reported two late teens or early adults brandishing and shooting weapons on Madrona Way half way between Coupeville and the highway. The caller said the people were wearing camouflage clothing and were not shooting people or vehicles.
Thursday, Oct. 27
At 2:07 a.m., a Faris Street residence reported being woken up by someone choking her. The man fled the home. Later, a large amount of cash was discovered to be missing from the home. Investigators ruled out any connection with recent burglaries on North Whidbey. It appears this was done by someone familiar with the family. The resident was not injured.
