Ten comedians from Seattle to Los Angeles will be featured at this year’s Komics to benefit Kids shows in Langley and Oak Harbor. The comedy shows are produced by the Comedy West agency headquartered in Freeland, and 100 percent of the proceeds are donated to children’s programs on Whidbey Island through Child Abuse Prevention Foundation (CAPF).
This is the second year that Comedy West has put together a benefit show for CAPF. In the last year they have produced similar benefits in Anchorage and in New Orleans. Comedians donate their time and talent, and all other costs of the show are underwritten by sponsors, so all of the proceeds are donated to benefit the children of Whidbey Island.
Five comedians will be performing in Oak Harbor at the Elks Lodge on Friday, March 22 at 8 p.m. Another group of comics will perform in Langley at South Whidbey High School on Saturday, March 23 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for either show.
Komics to benefit Kids tickets can be purchased through CAPF at their office in Freeland (360)331-7343 or toll-free (877) 331-7343. Tickets will also be available at The Daily Grind and Wind & Tide in Oak Harbor, Coupeville Pharmacy and Videoville/Miriam’s in Coupeville, Flowers By The Bay in Freeland, Langley Chamber of Commerce, and Hallmark in Clinton.
