Senior Makana Stone dominated the Coupeville High School girls basketball awards banquet Monday, March 7, like she dominated the Olympic League the past two years.
Stone received her second consecutive Olympic League Most Valuable Player Award, and it was announced she was selected to play in the 1A/2A all-state game.
The all-star game is at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at King’s and will feature the best senior basketball players from throughout Washington.
Stone, in addition to receiving her fourth varsity letter at the banquet, was named one of the team’s three captains by coaches David and Amy King, and, in a vote of her teammates, was selected Most Inspirational, the team’s Co-offensive MVP and the recipient of the Wolf Pride Award.
Sophomore Mia Littlejohn earned her second varsity letter, shared the Offensive MVP Award with Stone and was one of the team captains.
Littlejohn and junior Kailey Kellner were first-team, All-Olympic League selections.
Kellner was the other team captain and received the Leader of the Pack Award from the coaches.
Junior letter winner Lauren Grove was on the league’s honorable mention list and was named the team’s Most Valuable Defensive Player.
Kyla Briscoe, a sophomore letter winner, was voted the Most Improved Player.
Other varsity letter winners were juniors Tiffany Briscoe and Skyler Lawrence, sophomores Allison Wenzel and Lauren Rose, and freshman Lindsey Roberts.
The Wolves also received the Sportsmanship Award from the Olympic League.
