The Coupeville Lions Club and Town of Coupeville will once again partner to offer the annual Salmon BBQ and Town Concert starting noon on Sunday at Coupeville Town Park.
The Lions will be serving up their famous Salmon Barbecue with all the fixins from 12-1:30 p.m.
Music will begin at 12:30 p.m. with Patrick McHenry & The Chinook Hooks.
“The concert is a longstanding gift to our community from the Town of Coupeville, and end of summer event for our locals,” said Mayor Molly Hughes.
“Coming to the Lions Salmon BBQ and then the Town Concert makes, a lovely afternoon. Bring a chair and enjoy the music with your friends in Town Park.”
Barry Rix, who works with Concerts on the Cove, helps coordinate the free concert.
“We decided to try something a little different with some country music this year,” Hughes said.
McHenry is an award winning songwriter and performer from the Pacific Northwest.
“His latest album, Chinook Hooks, self-produced and recorded in Seattle at Brother Man Studio, represents his southern roots and songwriting prowess, displaying an incredible ability to genre-jump into a traditional ‘60s country groove from previous latin jazz-pop,” according to his official website. “It is a healthy dose of Honky Tonk with All American Rock aftertastes, relatable story telling, catchy melodies, and winsome composition. “
Tickets for the Salmon Barbecue are $15 each and are available at The Coupeville Chamber, bayleaf and from Lions club members. Call 360-678-4105 for “will call” tickets.
