A two-car collision Wednesday occurred shortly after 10 a.m. at the intersection of Midway Boulevard and SE Sixth Avenue after a blue Chevrolet Aveo reportedly ran a stop sign.

Oak Harbor Police Officer John Little said an eyewitness reported the driver of the compact-sized Aveo, 42-year-old Korena Kanterman of Oak Harbor, ran the sign while traveling westward on Sixth Avenue. An older-model tan Honda Civic, driven by 45-year-old Bryan Street of Oak Harbor, headed north on Midway Boulevard was unable to stop and collided with the crossing Aveo.

Street was transported to Whidbey General Hospital for lower back pain, said Officer Little. Neither Kanterman nor the two children in her vehicle reported any injuries at the scene.
