A man who was stabbed in the chest at an Oak Harbor home Saturday is refusing to cooperate with police, according to Detective Ed Wallace with the Island County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a residence on the 3000 block of Whitney Drive while investigating a 911 call from the location. They found a 26-year-old man who was stabbed in the chest with a knife.

The deputies determined that 22-year-old Joshua Greene stabbed the man, who was his 20-year-old sister’s boyfriend, during an altercation involving the three of them, the sheriff’s office reported.

Greene was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence. He’s being held in Island County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

The victim was transported to Whidbey General Hospital for treatment. Wallace said investigators don’t know his condition because he refused to sign a medical-release form and won’t talk with them about what happened
