I am writing this letter to express how disturbed I was during a wedding ceremony that took place Saturday, July 13, at the Coupeville Town Park.
As we were riding by on our bicycles, my boyfriend and I stopped to watch a beautiful wedding taking place. Just as the bride and groom were saying their vows a very rude man came out of his house across the street from the park and started yelling and screaming profanities because two cars were parked on public property in front of his house.
I asked him to lower his voice and explained to him that there was a wedding going on. He then got louder and started hammering in “no parking” signs with his axe. I again asked him to stop as he was disrupting the wedding, he then started waving his axe around and told me to get off his property.
I have been coming to Whidbey for 22 years and have always admired the beauty and how friendly everyone is. As a community, why let someone like that get away with such misconduct and outrageous behavior. I say lock him up!
