Mark Jeffries, 46, passed away Dec. 8, 2008 with his partner Roane Charland by his side, after a year and a half battle with cancer. He was born Dec. 13, 1961.

Mark grew up mostly in Oak Harbor and graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1980. He then went on to college at Washington State University. For a majority of his life he worked as a customer service manager for Microsoft, KING 5 and most recently Helio in Los Angeles.

Mark moved back to Seattle in September to be near family and friends in the final stages of his illness. Mark was known to many as the life of the party. He was a people person and loved life. He touched so many people’s lives. Toward the end of his illness Mark had shared with his family that he was at peace now and had led a good life. His only regrets were that he was going to miss his nieces and nephews growing up.

Mark is survived by his parents, John and Kathy Jeffries, sister Laura Ulam, sister and brother-in-law Jodi and Carey Nelson, nieces and nephews Tyler and Sarah Ulam and Brady and Lexi Nelson, and partner of 13 years Roane Charland. Mark requested no services be held.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests any memorials be sent to the local Help House or other food bank per Mark’s wishes.
