Morse has what it takes

I am writing to recommend, to you, Larry Morse for the position of North Whidbey Fire District commissioner.

I am writing to recommend, to you, Larry Morse for the position of North Whidbey Fire District commissioner.

I have known Larry for the last six years, and appreciate his contributions and devotion to the community. I had the privilege to serve alongside Larry when he was still an active firefighter, and he proved himself to be knowledgeable and capable. In addition, Larry has served as your commissioner for the last term, and has served with character, courage and commitment. North Whidbey is blessed with a wonderful cadre of firefighters, and Larry Morse is the right candidate to be your representative to them.

The position of commissioner is one of great importance. A commissioner is responsible for setting the direction of the department, setting policy and controlling expenditures. To accomplish these goals a commissioner must identify issues and needs, set goals and priorities, vigorously analyze potential actions, and evaluate results. Larry has the judgment, knowledge, fundamental skills and critical analysis tools necessary to successfully accomplish these tasks. Larry’s background in the private sector, his service as firefighter and as commissioner all meld into the right combination of attributes for him to serve with distinction.

To lead the fire department requires a person of character and intelligence, and one who can accurately read the issues. Larry brings focus to those efforts and priorities. Once again, I recommend Larry Morse to continue as your results- oriented fire commissioner.
