School boards gather Tuesday

The school boards from all three Whidbey Island school districts will hold a joint public meeting next week.

Board members from Oak Harbor, Coupeville and South Whidbey school districts will get together Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the Coupeville High School Commons located on S. Main Street.

Oak Harbor School District Superintendent Rick Schulte said the dinner meeting will include a broad discussion of common issues facing the island school district and the directors will try to figure out better ways to assist each other.

The Aug. 5 meeting marks the second time the three boards have met in a meeting. The last one took place in November when members met with state legislators.
