Newspaper reaps what it has sown

Just read your editorial concerning the letter to the editor about the jet noise. It would seem that you got exactly what you hoped for in publishing that letter, only you did not count on individuals who would go beyond common decency. When you print a trolling letter, and yes, this is exactly what this letter was and you knew it, you will bring the best and worst out of people. I am not saying the letter writer did not have a right to her opinion, but you – the WNT staff – knew the letter’s points were not valid but thought it would be fun to see if you could get a rise in your popularity poll. Well, you reap what you sow.

I would encourage my fellow islanders not to concern themselves with the letter writer, but put full blame on who is responsible for this – the Whidbey News-Times.
