Artist Ries Niemi and Friend Holloway install two new statues at Oak Harbor High School Thursday, Oct. 2. Planning started in Spring 2013 and a design was chosen in May 2013, but Niemi didn’t build the statue until July, with the help of Holloway, who did the welding. There will be a dedication for the artworks Nov. 5 at the high school for art students and donors.
