Oak Harbor Main Street Association announced it is launching a Sunday market downtown.
Main Street Market, as it is being dubbed, opens Monday, July 4 in the parking lot at the corner of Pioneer Way and Dock Street and continues each Sunday after that through Sept. 25.
Hours are noon to 4 p.m.
The market will feature artists, crafts, food and produce plus music and more, according to a press release.
“We want to create an experience downtown that provokes business and excitement,” said Melissa Riker with the Oak Harbor Main Street Association. “It gives people something else to do and will hopefully bring them downtown and to our local businesses.”
According to the press release, Riker said the market will feature 20 vendors, with an emphasis on Whidbey Island artists, crafters, farmers and businesses for its first season.
An Octoberfest celebration is scheduled for Sept. 18.
The market is accepting vendor applications. Cost for a 10-by-10-foot booth is $25 per week, and 10-by-20-foot spaces are $40.
