A 19-year-old Oak Harbor man died early in the morning Jan. 3 in a collision near Pass Lake in the Deception Pass area.
Around 2:40 a.m., Jaushon Clay-Garner was traveling north on Highway 20 in a Chevrolet Cobalt, according to a Washington State Patrol report. His vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound Jeep Grand Cherokee on the passenger side, the report states. Clay-Garner died at the scene, according to the report.
The Jeep’s driver and passenger were both transported to WhidbeyHealth Medical Center in Coupeville. The 24-year-old passenger was reported as unconscious at the scene.
Cause of the crash is under investigation.
