An Oak Harbor man who broke a shop window and a car window after being escorted out of a downtown bar this summer is facing a felony charge, court documents allege.

Anderson R. Woods, 33, allegedly became upset when a bartender at Off the Hook refused to return his credit card, which he claimed was stolen, and a bouncer made him leave earlier in the morning hours of July 19.

Woods allegedly starting punching and kicking walls and windows outside the bar. He allegedly kicked and shattered the window of Queen Nails as well as the back window of a parked car, according to the report by Officer Mike Clements with the Oak Harbor Police Department.

Prosecutors charged Woods in Island County Superior Court Dec. 2 with malicious mischief in the second degree.

Under the charge, he is accused of causing more than $750 in damages.

Clements responded to a report of an assault in downtown Oak Harbor and found Woods, with blood on his sleeve, standing with a group of people who appeared to be trying to calm him.

A witness said Woods threw himself against the wall of the bar, punched the wall and kicked the window, but it didn’t break, according to the police report.

He walked away with friends, but then broke the shop window; he jumped up and kicked the rear window of a parked car, shattering it, the report said.
