Oak Harbor pool on summer schedule

The North Whidbey Parks and Recreation District has implemented a new summer schedule, with changes to certain class and open swim times.

The North Whidbey Parks and Recreation District has implemented a new summer schedule, with changes to certain class and open swim times.

The following changes to the Monday-Thursday evening schedule became effective Wednesday, July 6: lap swim is now from 7:15-8:15 p.m.; aerobics, volleyball and Zumba classes are now from 7:25-8:25 p.m.; and open swim is from 8:30-10 p.m.

The following changes to the Monday-Friday morning schedule became effective Monday, July 11: all 9:30-10:30 a.m. shallow water aerobics and volleyball classes will move to 9:10-10:10 a.m.; and the 10:45-11:45 Monday, Wednesday and Friday low-impact aerobics class will move to 10:20-11:20 a.m.

The summer schedule is effective through Aug. 26.

Additionally, the pool will be closed for special events and maintenance as follows: Aug. 23, all regularly scheduled activities from 4-10 p.m. will be canceled for the first annual North Whidbey Island Swimming Championships; Aug. 27-Sept. 4, the facility will be closed for annual maintenance.

On the second Saturday of each month, the pool will be open for open swim for special needs community members and their families from 4:30-6 p.m.
