New student registration and returning student confirmation starts Aug. 5 in the Oak Harbor School District. Parents with students new to the district must bring a government-issued birth certificate, students’ immunization records and proof of address. Proof of address is often a lease agreement or utility bill. Copies are accepted. Elementary school registration is onsite 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 5-8 and Aug. 11. Middle school registration is onsite 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 18, 19 and 21 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 20. If for some reason the registration dates are missed, it is possible to do so after the formal period of registration. The dates the schools will be open are available online. If the required documents can’t be provided at the time of registration, the registration will still be accepted, so long as the proof of age and immunization records are given to the school within 30 days of the first day of school. High school registration will be by appointment only, which can be made by calling the office at 360-279-5717 from 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 13-17. Required registration packets can be found at www.ohsd.net/site/default.aspx or at each school. For more information, call the school district at 360-279-5000.
