Oak Harbor teacher to visit Library of Congress

A teacher at Olympic View Elementary was chosen to travel to the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., this month.

A teacher at Olympic View Elementary was chosen to travel to the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., this month.

Nicole Bouvion was selected from more than 300 applicants to attend a teacher institute at the library where she’ll learn effective practices for using primary sources in the classroom.

She also gets to explore digitized historical artifacts and documents.

The Library of Congress is the nation’s oldest federal cultural institution and the world’s preeminent reservoir of knowledge.

The library serves the public, scholars and Congress.
