The Oak Harbor track and field team finished fourth out of seven teams at the Chuck Randall Relays at Arlington High School over the weekend.
The Wildcats earned 132 team points. Arlington won the event with 232 points, followed by Burlington-Edision (213) and Everett (152).
OHHS finished ahead of Mount Vernon (114), Mariner (111) and Sedro-Woolley (78).
“We all thought that the kids completed really well considering that many members of the team were not at the meet because of conflicts with Tolo,†coach Jay Turner said. “The weather was also very nasty with rain and wind all day long.â€
ChrisGanna Cooper took the highest individual finish of the day for the Wildcats, earning first in the 100 meter dash at 14.34 seconds.
The girls javelin team of Amy McElroy, Ashley Kingma and Lia Speer took first with a combined distance of 256-feet-2-inches. The girls shot put team of Jessica Gilbert, Kayla Ford and Irene Burleson also took first with a distance of 88-feet-9 1/4 inches.
The boys 400 hurdle relay of Richard Chong, Olimar Hunt, and Raheem Maddox took second, as did the boys sprint medley of Randall Lawrence, James Blunk, Hunt, and Camron Fuller.
