An Oak Harbor woman is facing charges for allegedly driving her car into a house while her estranged husband and daughter were inside, according to court documents.

Prosecutors charged Lola R. Arnold, 47, in Island County Superior Court Oct. 14 with second-degree malicious mischief and reckless endangerment.

Arnold appeared emotional in court Monday for her preliminary hearing.

Superior Court Judge Alan Hancock released her on her personal recognizance after admonishing her for allegedly “acting significantly out of control.”

The police report on the Oct. 11 incident states that the man and his daughter were inside the house when they heard a loud crash. He went outside and saw that Arnold had crashed her car into the side of the house, according to a report by Officer Mel Lolmaugh with the Oak Harbor Police Department.

Nobody was injured, the report indicates.

The man told the officer that he and Arnold were separated for about five months and she had a no-contact order against him.

He showed the officer angry text messages that Arnold had sent to him, Lolmaugh wrote.

Both the interior and exterior of the wall were damaged; the inside drywall was torn apart and a wall stud was cracked.

Arnold told the officer that she tried to stop before hitting the house, but nothing happened when she hit the brakes.
