Oak Harbor High School graduate Jay Stout, now playing baseball for AIB College of Business in Des Moines, Iowa, earned all-Midwest Collegiate Conference honors the school announced Monday, May 12.

Stout, a left fielder, not only picked up first-team honors, but was selected to the conference’s Gold Glove team for outstanding defense with 56 putouts and fielding percentage of .984.

The junior led the Eagles in hitting with a .339 average, including a slugging percentage of .475 and an on base percentage of .453.

“Jay is a prime example of a guy letting his talking get it done on the field,” said coach Chad Harris. “He plays an aggressive style of baseball which fits perfectly with our philosophy. I think once Jay goes through a complete fall and spring with us; we will see an even better player emerge, which will only make our team stronger.”
