Only one ferry, the Kennewick, is currently operating on the Port Townsend/Coupeville ferry route while crews make repairs to the Salish.

The breakdown prompted the cancellation of the 9:30 a.m. sailing from Port Townsend and the 10:15 a.m. sailing from Coupeville.

Washington State Ferries spokeswoman Marta Coursey said via email that engineers are still diagnosing the problem.

Reservations are unavailable for the remainder of the day Tuesday and reservation holders will be prioritized on a first-come basis. If reservation holders do not travel Tuesday, the ferry will refund the deposit.
