Crews will work at night next week to pave State Route 525 on Whidbey Island near the Clinton ferry terminal.
On Sunday night, crews will grind the road in preparation for paving. Starting Monday, crews will pave between the ferry dock and Bob Galbreath Road. Crews will work nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Crews anticipate good weather and expect to complete paving before Friday. Temporary lane markings will be applied as crews complete the work. Permanent striping will be added 21 days after the fresh asphalt has cured.
A lane will remain open in each direction, but drivers may experience minor delays while driving through the construction zone. Drivers planning to board the Clinton ferry are advised to give themselves a little extra time to get through the work zone, said WSDOT spokesperson Dave Chesson.
