Coupeville High School’s Cole Payne added another honor to his growing list of baseball awards this spring.
Payne was named to the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association 1A all-state, first-team Tuesday, June 28.
Payne, a senior catcher for the Wolves this season, was earlier named the Olympic League’s Most Valuable Player and was selected to play in the district feeder game for the region’s top seniors.
No other player from the Olympic League was chosen for the 14-man WSBCA first or the 12-man second team.
Payne led the Wolves to the conference title this spring, Coupeville’s first in 25 years.
