PEOPLE & PLACES Hikers make annual trek to Goose Rock summit

Greeting the New Year 2002 from the top of Goose Rock, 16 adults, two children and three dogs walked (climbed) to the top of Goose Rock at Deception Pass to hail the New Year.

Steve and LaDonna Berentsen of Anacortes visited friends he worked with a number of years ago. Steve is still working for the Anacortes News, plus a number of other groups in Anacortes.

Oak Harbor Retirement Community is very proud to announce they were deficiency-free in their annual state inspection survey of the assisted living facility. The state survey in the memory care building, held in May of 2001, was also deficiency-free.
