Pledge: Court decision totally wrong

I am extremely outraged that our government could consider the pledge of allegiance unconstitutional based upon the grounds of the constitution’s establishment clause.

I am extremely outraged that our government could consider the pledge of allegiance unconstitutional based upon the grounds of the constitution’s establishment clause. This is totally wrong!

As a former atheist, who served our country in the United States Air Force for several years, I was appalled that our country could be slapped in the face by its very own judicial system. Isn’t the oath of the United States Supreme Court justices subject to the reference of a mightier power, other than our mere human intelligence?

Our forefathers are probably doing back flips in the graves over this right now. In England, for example, not forgetting our British heritage, you are a member of the Church of England whether you want to be or not and are required to support that church financially. There is no choice. This idiot, who has been given the freedom to choose what is best for himself and his child, might want to consider this fact. Maybe his child may like reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and may not want to be an atheist like her father. What about the child’s right to choose? In the United States we have that choice and the majority rules. I say, let the American public vote on it.

I would like to state that if this individual wants to exercise his right to prevent his child from praising a God of any type, that is his choice, but he should consider the fact that many other children have the same right to praise a God of their choosing as well. There again, the majority rules. If he doesn’t like it, tough, let him move to a country that will give him the right to be un-religious if he can find one. This is our country, love it or leave it.

The choice is yours to be made. If he thinks he can find a better place to live, then let him move his family to that place. Otherwise, deal with the fact that the majority rules whether we like it or not.

Our forefathers stated that God blessed our country and they did not make reference to what God blessed it, just that a God of some type blessed it. Next, we will be removing “In God We Trust” from our currency.
