Volunteers from the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge, Whidbey Island Naval Air Station and the Impaired Driving Impact Panel of Island County are gearing up to transform the Elks Lodge into a fantastic free German festival.
The event will be held Oct. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge, 155 NE Ernst St. Island Thrift has committed to match the event’s proceeds up to $5,000.
OkSOBERfest! is aimed at “those ages 8 to 108.” Besides the Thomas Kemper root beer garden; live music by The Oompah Band; and brats, krauts, slaw and more, a number of activities sets the festival apart from its well-known counterpart.
