Police respond to report of stolen remote control | Blotter

The Coupeville Marshal's Office responded to the following calls.

Monday, Aug. 31

At 4:40 p.m., a caller reported that two cars on North Main Street were on fire following a botched attempt at jump starting.

At 6:25 p.m., a South Main Street resident reported that someone stole her remote control. She said the thief came in through an unlocked window using a pillow.

Thursday, Sept. 3

At 6:51 a.m., a caller reported that a man at the Valero gas station was walking around with a battery-operated dog and asking people for batteries.

At 7:25 a.m., there was a report that a stop sign was falling over on South Main Street.

At 7:54 a.m., a Northwest Sixth Street resident reported that a rabbit was stuck in a fence.

Friday, Sept. 4

At 10:23 a.m., a caller reported that a woman has a dying crow outside of an office on North Main Street.

At 11:11 a.m., a man reported that a deputy told his employee to leave a Northwest Alexander Street property even though he has permission to remove a tree there.

Saturday, Sept. 5

At 2 p.m., a caller reported that the front door was open on a North Main Street restaurant and nobody was inside.

Sunday, Sept. 6

At 12:26 p.m., a caller reported that a transient was sleeping in a sleeping bag in front of a South Main Street business.

At 2:59 p.m., a caller on North Main Street reported that a man was refusing to leave.

At 5:28 p.m., a shoplifter was reported on Grace Street.

At 8:59 p.m., a Hawthorne Place resident reported that her daughter took her car and was headed to Chelan.

Tuesday, Sept. 8

At 9:43 a.m., a woman said she was at the courthouse and someone should come arrest her.

Wednesday, Sept. 9

At 9:36 a.m., a driver reported that a bearded man in a red van forced him off the highway.

At 1:16 p.m., a Madrona Way resident reported that a scammer claiming to be her granddaughter called and asked for bail money.

Friday, Sept. 11

At 11:54 a.m., a caller reported that two dogs may have been overheating in a car parked on Coveland Street.

Saturday, Sept. 12

At 7:37 p.m., a woman reported losing a purse on Northeast Seventh Street. It contained hundreds of dollars in cash, glasses and a camera.
