Pornography raises alarm | Island Scanner

The following items were selected from reports made to the Island County Sheriff’s Office: Wednesday, May 7 At 6:12 a.m., a caller said a trailer and truck were completely blocking Woods Lane in Coupeville and he could not leave his driveway. At 8:31 a.m., the WAIF shelter off of State Highway 20 in Coupeville reported a dog running in and out of the entrance of Rhododendron Park. The golden retriever mix had no tags or collar.

Wednesday, May 7

At 6:12 a.m., a caller said a trailer and truck were completely blocking Woods Lane in Coupeville and he could not leave his driveway.

At 8:31 a.m., the WAIF shelter off of State Highway 20 in Coupeville reported a dog running in and out of the entrance of Rhododendron Park. The golden retriever mix had no tags or collar.

At 8:42 a.m., a caller on Cathedral Drive in Coupeville said phone lines were down since 5:30 p.m. the day prior. Caller said a neighbor has Lifeline service, and though he isn’t having an emergency, the outage was “criminal” and the sheriff’s office should do something to get the service restored.

At 2:59 p.m., a caller on Quail Trail Lane reported that a sign announcing water shut-off times was defaced over the weekend. The caller said they were concerned the suspected culprit might become a problem when the shut-offs occur.

At 3:28 p.m., a caller on Shadow Lane in Freeland claimed she found pornography on her husband’s computer that morning, and is really afraid because her children were at home with him. The caller requested an escort to get the children out of the house.

At 7:33 p.m., dispatchers reported a 911 call from a Ducken Road location, but were unable to determine what was being said. No obvious signs of distress.

At 10:29 p.m., a caller on Forgette Lane in Coupeville reported hearing someone outside the house, and couldn’t determine what they were doing.

Thursday, May 8

At 11:25 a.m., a caller on Terrace Drive in Oak Harbor said someone cut the lock to his garage and house and broke in. No suspect information.

At 12:34 p.m., a caller on Deer Crest Lane reported they were being harassed by unknown parties, possibly a collections agency.

At 6:12 p.m., a caller on South Main Street in Coupeville said he had a man and woman at his home the previous night, that the pair told him they were living in a tent at Rhododendron Park. The caller said he gave the couple something to eat, went to use the bathroom and came out to find them gone and his computer missing.

At 6:54 p.m., a woman in a white BMW SUV in a North Main Street parking lot in Coupeville was reportedly trying to kill bedbugs in her car with tweezers. The woman, parked in a handicap spot, may have mental issues.

At 7:10 p.m., a resident on Airline Way in Oak Harbor said he, his roommate and his roommate’s wife were fighting. The caller reported suspect threatened her with a stick and threw her into a chair.

At 8:14 p.m., a caller on Hazzle Court in Coupeville said her preteen daughter was pinching her and threw a plate at her. The caller refused aid for herself and her daughter.
