Oak Harbor is one of 12 locations statewide chosen to host an official Seattle Seahawks rally.

The rally will start at 6 p.m. Friday at Flyers Restaurant and Brewery.

“We’re excited and looking forward to it,” said Jason Tritt, Flyers owner. “It’s going to be an awesome time.”

A rally this past weekend in Mount Vernon drew about 200 Seahawks fans, and Tritt said he is expecting a similar number for Friday’s Oak Harbor rally.

The temperature is supposed to be in the 50s with no wind or rain, but Tritt said he is ready for any weather.

He will be raising a tent and heating the restaurant patio.

Seahawks pride in the area led to Oak Harbor’s selection as an official rally site.

“It’s because of the dedication to the Seahawks and everything else we’ve already done,” said Michelle Curry, co-host for the event.

The other co-host is Drea Park.

Recent rallies at Deception Pass Bridge and the Coupeville Wharf helped demonstrate the 12th Man spirit among Whidbey Island residents.

Teresa Besaw and Kory Dyer were the organizers behind the 12th Man Pass and the 12th Man Wharf events, both of which drew about 150 Seahawk fans each.

During the rally Friday, there will be trivia, a DJ and raffle, Curry said.

The raffle prizes are being provided by the Seahawks organization, Curry said.

During the last official Seahawks rally she attended, Curry said preseason tickets were given away, as well as an autographed football helmet.

Since the organization is bringing the prizes later this week, it was unknown what the giveaways will be at the Oak Harbor event.

Food and drink specials will also be available during the rally, Tritt said.

Each official rally location will have different people who are involved with the Seahawks showing up.

Curry said she and the other Oak Harbor organizers are hopeful a player will attend, but nothing has been disclosed by the Seahawks.

The Seahawks play the San Francisco 49ers at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, in the NFC Championship game at CenturyLink Field.

The winner will advance to Super Bowl Feb. 2 to face the winner of the AFC title game between New England and Denver.

Louie-G’s Pizza in Oak Harbor also is hosting its own Seahawks rally at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Louie-G’s is partnering with China City to put on the event and will sell raffle tickets with winners getting Seahawks memorabilia.

Both restaurants are offering 12 percent off meals from 4-7 p.m. Saturday to anyone wearing Seahawks gear.

“And 49 percent is added to the ticket of anyone wearing Niners gear,” joked Dyer, manager of China City.
