Sparked by two school records, the Coupeville High School boys track team won a four-team meet at South Whidbey Thursday, March 31.
The Wolves piled up 84 points, topping South Whidbey (63), Sultan (57) and Granite Falls (50).
The Coupeville girls finished fourth with 34 points, trailing Granite Falls (82), South Whidbey (82) and Sultan (75).
Dalton Martin broke the school discus record with a winning toss of 158-05; he also won the shot put (44-04).
Jordan Ford bettered the CHS pole vault mark while placing second with a leap of 11-09.
Jacob Smith won two individual events (100, 11.9; 200, 24.03) and teamed with Ford, Gabe Eck and Jacob Martin to win the 4×100 relay (46.09).
Other winners for the boys were Lathom Kelley (300 hurdles, 41.48) and Ryan Griggs (high jump, 5-6).
The girls were led by two victorious relay teams. Lauren Grove, Lindsey Roberts, Makana Stone and Sylvia Hurlburt captured the 4×100 (51.37) and 4×200 (1:49.32).
Coupeville, Port Angeles, Sequim and host Port Townsend meet at Blue Heron Middle School at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, April 14.
