Regency on Whidbey is holding a series of candidate forums to allow residents to meet and hear from candidates for public office.
Regency is located at 1040 Southwest Kimball Drive in Oak Harbor. The forums take place in the activity room.
While it’s a hot election season on the national level, there’s also a series of local and state races that directly affects Whidbey Island residents.
The schedule of forums is as follows:
n At 3 p.m., today, Sept. 14, state Sen. Barbara Bailey (R-Oak Harbor) and Democratic candidate Angie Homola will discuss the issues.
n At 3 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, state Rep. Norma Smith (R-Clinton) and challenger Michael Scott, a Libertarian, will answer questions.
n At 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, state Rep. Dave Hayes (R-Camano) and Democratic candidate Doris Breevoot will be present.
n At 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, the four candidates for two Island County commissioner seats will attend. Commissioner Helen Price Johnson, a Democrat, is facing Republican Gary Wary. Republican Commissioner Jill Johnson is facing Democrat John Fowkes.
