In celebration of the National Park Service Centennial, Friends of Ebey’s will screen six film shorts made during “Ebey’s Reserve’s FilmSlam” in May. The films all feature Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve.  General admission doors open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at the Coupeville High School Performing Arts Center. VIP doors open at 4:45 p.m. at the High School Commons.

“Our fundraising event this year will feature short films, each 3-6 minutes in length — all written, filmed and produced in 50 hours on the reserve. The reserve’s FilmSlam was open to all levels of filmmaking experience — the result is both a touching and entertaining mix of different perspectives of the reserve… from a zombie apocalypse, to “EB” the alien, to visual and historical explorations of the reserve, there is something for everyone,” said Alix Roos, Executive Director of Friends of Ebey’s.

Two types of tickets are available for the event. General admission tickets are $5 for student and $10 for adult and include lemonade and popcorn. VIP tickets, which are $100, include a pre-screening party with celebrity guests and hors d’oeuvres, VIP seating for the screening and a festive after party across the street at the Compass Rose. Tickets are available online at www.friendsofebeys.org. They are also available at the bayleaf and Chamber of Commerce in Coupeville and Blooms Tasting Room in Langley. E-mail info@friendsofebeys.org or call 360-678-6633 with any questions.
