As next the May 20 election on the high school remodel bond approaches, the Oak Harbor community has an excellent opportunity to say “yes.”

As next the May 20 election on the high school remodel bond approaches, the Oak Harbor community has an excellent opportunity to say “yes.”

Yes, to providing access and opportunity to physically-challenged students.

Yes, to updating electrical systems to support computers and other electronic tools.

Yes, to giving 12 roving teachers their own classrooms.

Yes, to an athletic facility that will instill both student athletes and our community with pride.

Yes, to a modest performing arts center to showcase talent and hope.

Yes, to light and modern learning spaces.

Yes, to low, low interest rates, a true conservative’s dream!

Yes, to meeting seismic codes and to installing fire-suppressant sprinklers.

Yes, to support 1,800 high school students in their aspirations for better lives.

Yes, to join 54 percent of our citizens in voting for the right remodel plan at the right time for the right reasons.

What about the existing stadium? The existing stadium should be renovated to continue honoring those who died in World War II. In so doing, Oak Harbor would also honor our military families and simultaneously provide auxiliary practice playing fields.

Please vote yes on March 20.
