It was a different game, the same story for the Oak Harbor boys basketball team on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats took an early lead over Marysville-Pilchuck, only to see their advantage evaporate in the second half, resulting in a 76-59 home loss.

The theme has become all too common for OHHS head coach Bryan Schulle whose team has had first-quarter leads over its last four league games, but is still in search of its first win.

Also, our lack of experience may hurt us a little as we play more veteran teams in the league.”

Oak Harbor jumped to 35-32 advantage behind the play of junior guard Chris Hughes and senior Marc Ferguson.

Hughes tallied a season-high 19 points, nailing an array of shots all over the court.

“Chris found a flow within the offense,” Schulle said. “His confidence seems high and his shot selection is very solid.”

Ferguson added 15 for the Wildcats.

Marysville, however, rallied behind sophomore Jared Stohl, who put in five three pointers and a game-high 23 points.

Oak Harbor is now 0-7 in the WesCo North and 0-11 overall. They start the second half of their league season Tuesday, Jan. 25 on the road against league-leading Cascade (7-1, 8-4).
