Regarding the sentence given to Deante Lawson for the “beating” of a man back in November. Lawson hit the victim (possibly with brass knuckles) and then proceeded to stomp on the man’s head as he lay unconscious in the middle of the street. He gets nine months in jail and is ordered to pay $817. Is this a cruel joke? A misprint possibly? Stomping on a persons head as he lay in the street is attempted murder, and this man gets nine months. Unreal. Is it just me or does the prosecutors office low-ball every case that comes across its desk in order to keep his conviction rate high?
