Shorewood scored multiple runs in all put the final inning to defeat the Oak Harbor High School softball team 15-2 in five innings Tuesday, April 14, on the Wildcats' diamond.

Shorewood scored multiple runs in all put the final inning to defeat the Oak Harbor High School softball team 15-2 in five innings Tuesday,  April 14, on the Wildcats’ diamond.

After the Thunderbirds scored two runs in the top of the first inning on two errors and a single, Oak Harbor countered with two in its half.

With one out, Taylor Heidt singled, Kelly Findley walked and Alexa Findley singled to load the bases. Tricia Sarns drove in one run and Kelly Findley stole home for the other to tie the score.

From that point, the Wildcat offense went silent but Shorewood roared on.

The T-birds (2-6, 4-6) scored four runs in the second inning, five in the third and four in the fourth with the help of 14 hits, five for extra bases.

Oak Harbor was limited to four hits after the first inning and left six runners on in the final three innings.

Alexa Findley finished with two hits, Sydney White hit a double and Heidt, Kelly Findley, Sarns and Sam Payne all added singles.

Oak Harbor (1-5, 1-7) plays at Shorecrest (1-7, 1-9) at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 15.
