Coupeville High School’s Austin Fields and Christine Fields both qualified for the tri-district golf tournament with top-five finishes in the district meet at the North Bellingham Golf Club Thursday, May 9.

The tri-district tournament will be Tuesday, May 14, at Bremerton’s Gold Mountain Golf Course. The top 33 boys and 17 girls qualify for the state tournament.

The Fields siblings both placed fifth at district. Senior Austin shot a 78 in the boys tournament while sophomore Christine carded an 87 in the girls.

Austin is shooting for his third consecutive state trip, placing 37th in 2011 and 36th in 2012

Christine placed 8th at state as a freshman in 2012.

Last year, Austin was eighth at district and fourth at tri-district, and Christine finished fourth at district and seventh at tri-district.
