The Many Moods of Christmas music is set for Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts.Tickets for all seats are $12. Call the WICA ticket office, (360) 221-8268

These concerts will be varied programs of musical selections chosen to highlight the beauty and meaning of the season. Orchestral and choral pieces as well as new compositions and seldom heard works will be included.

Guest conductor Robert Scandrett will conduct the vocal ensemble and orchestra this year in “When Icicles Hang,” a little-known work by composer John Rutter. “Icicles” is a cycle of seven songs on texts by Renaissance English writers.

The Chamber Players will perform Mozart’s “Gloria,” and “The Christmas Concerto” (Concerto Grosso, Op. 6/8) by Corelli.

The program will close with a suite of traditional carols arranged by Robert Shaw and Robert Russell Bennett performed by SING!chron-icity and Saratoga Chamber Players.

Proceeds from the concert will pay music rentals and performance costs. Any revenue beyond cost will be given to local charities.

SING!Chronicity and Saratoga Chamber Players will present “A Whidbey Wassail” at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16 in Coupeville High School Performing Arts Center.

Concerts on the Cove is sponsoring the vocal and instrumental music

SING!Chronicity and Saratoga Chamber Players will perform both separately and together.

Shifty Sailors will perform for their only island performance of the Christmas season.

The concert will be the debut of a new trio, The Basics, who are Deb Lund, Karl Olsen and Vern Olsen. Their performance will add a lighter touch, more for the family audience.

Advanced tickets for this event, $10 for adults and $5 for students, may be purchased in Oak Harbor at Wind & Tide and Daily Grind; in Coupeville at Coupeville Pharmacy, Great Times Espresso and Videoville; at Greenbank Farm, and at BookBay in Freeland. Tickets at the door tickets will be $12 for adults and $6 for students.
