Skagit Valley College held its eighty-ninth annual commencement ceremony Monday, June 17 at Oak Harbor High School.

Each year, Whidbey Island Campus students recognize faculty and staff members who demonstrate superior performance inside and outside the classroom.

This year, Brian Brady and Mary Darden received the exceptional full-time faculty award.

Audra Mahoney received the exceptional part-time faculty award. Raynette Parks received the exceptional staff award.

All are of Oak Harbor.

A total of 1,678 degrees, diplomas and certificates were awarded to 1,243 students district-wide this year; 257 were awarded to Whidbey students.

Of the 1,678 degrees, certificates and diplomas awarded to 1,243 students district-wide, 147 academic degrees; 164 professional/technical degrees and certificates; and 31 high school diplomas were awarded to students from Whidbey Island.

Graduates’ ages range from 16 to 72.
