Oak Harbor High School has a cool Web site, thanks to the efforts of a handful of students and staff.

Rob Prosch, a vice principal at the high school, publicly acknowledge the creative team at the meeting of the school board on Monday night.

Three students and two staff members worked diligently since last school year to put together the Web site, at http://ohhs.ohsd.net. Prosch said he intends to keep a team in place to maintain and update the site, and to expand it further by the end of this school year.

Arthur Beardon, T.J. O’Brien and Jaemee Galang have work with science teacher Bill Rick and computer lab instructional assistant Joan Klope in developing the widely-inclusive site. It incorporates many facets of programs and daily life at Oak Harbor High School. Site visitors can access a roster of certificated staff, a full-year school calendar, an overview of graduation requirements, a roster of the Associated Student Body, a link to the cheerleading squad’s site, and a “campus section.”

By the end of the school year, Prosch expects that individual teacher/class pages will be added, where students will be able to check for homework assignments.

Prosch spoke in glowing terms, particularly of the students on the team. Galang, he said, has taken a multitude of pictures with her digital camera that now appear or will appear on the site. Beardon is the student Webmaster, and O’Brien is the student contributor.

“This Web site would not have existed had it not been for these two individuals,” Prosch said of Beardon and O’Brien.
