Taekwondo sweeps nationals

Students at Woodward’s Taekwondo Academy in Oak Harbor cleaned up at the Taekwondo Grand Nationals held in Edmonds on June 29.

Competitors at the Grand Nationals came from California, Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, Arizona, and Canada as well as Washington. Woodward’s Academy sent 20 students to the event which is held annually. The martial arts enthusiasts competed in two disciplines – forms and sparring – for trophies and regional rankings.

13-and-under division:

Caitlin Woodward: second place; Cassie Rea: second place; Benjamin Reyes: first place; Ren Art: first place;
