Teddy bears are needed

They come in boxes, they come in bags, and they even come strapped to the backs of motorcycles.

They come in boxes, they come in bags, and they even come strapped to the backs of motorcycles. Teddy bears and stuffed animals are always needed at Child Abuse Prevention Foundation (CAPF), and going into the holiday season the storeroom is almost empty. CAPF accepts donations of new and very slightly used teddy bears all year round, and recently received a bag full from Gold Wing Motorcycle Club. The stuffed animals are collected and distributed to foster children, children in abusive or violent situations, police and fire departments, hospital emergency rooms, and to programs that work with underprivileged children.

CAPF is experiencing a shortage of teddy bears and stuffed animals. Anyone with good quality new or very slightly used teddies can drop them off at the CAPF office at 1635 E. Main, No. A-7, Freeland. For information or pickup contact CAPF’s current “Teddy Bear Lady,” volunteer Janet Sebastian at 678-5528; or call the CAPF office toll-free (877) 331-7343. CAPF is a registered non-profit charity and all donations are tax deductible according to law.
