Touch-and-gos to resume at OLF Jan. 6

The Navy announced Thursday its plans to resume touch-and-go operations at Outlying Field Coupeville on Monday, Jan. 6. For that week, the Navy plans to fly that Monday and Thursday, Jan. 9. Practices will be condcuted in the late afternoons and early evenings, according to a statement issued today.

The Navy announced Thursday its plans to resume touch-and-go operations at Outlying Field Coupeville on Monday, Jan. 6. For that week, the Navy plans to fly that Monday and Thursday, Jan. 9. Practices will be condcuted in the late afternoons and early evenings, according to a statement issued today.

Residents living in Coupeville and around OLF Coupeville can anticipate an increase in jet noise on those dates as a result of field carrier landing practices.The flights are training required for combat deployments. The Navy’s FCLP schedule is driven by the pilot training curriculum and pre-deployment carrier qualifications for the EA-6B Prowler and EA-18G Growler, according to the Navy.
