As the primary election approaches, a number of public candidate forums seek to educate voters on Whidbey Island.
The Clinton Community Council is hosting two nonpartisan moderated forums on June 25 for the Island County Commissioner District 1 position and on July 9 for the 10th legislative district positions, which include two state representatives and one state senator.
Both forums are located at the Clinton Community Hall, 6411 S. Central Ave. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the events run 6:30-8:30 p.m., with some time afterwards for citizen conversations with the candidates.
Attendees can submit questions to be asked during the forums to the Clinton Community Council. Send questions to info@clintoncommunitycouncil.org. The deadline for the June forum is June 21 and the deadline for the July forum is July 5.
As in years past, the League of Women Voters of Whidbey Island plans to host a virtual candidate forum in partnership with the Sno-Isle Libraries at 6 p.m. on July 18. The forum includes candidates for County Commissioner District 1 and District 2, state senator and state representatives.
Candidates will answer questions developed by the League’s Forum Committee during this free teleconferenced forum. A Zoom link to attend will be provided by July 17 at lwvwhidbey.org.
