Oak Harbor Venture Club is seeking local nominations for its Mae Carvell Award.

“The purpose of the Mae Carvell Award is to honor and pay tribute to men and women who have consistently and effectively made the effort to advance the status of women,” said award committee chairperson Karen Cox.

Nominations should include the number of people affected, depth of involvement and permanence of contributions. Include documentation or other information that would help in the judging process.

Nomination fields include those working to eliminate ecomonic, legal, social or political discrimination of women; advancing equal rights of women on welfare programs; initiating programs for special needs of women. Nominations must be received by Feb. 28.
