Wallin choice for hospital board

With two very qualified candidates for hospital commissioner, you might ask what difference does it make. I have seen what qualifications and talents this board needs after attending nearly all the board meetings for the past eight years.

Here is why we want and need Ron Wallin at this time: If the board is to function with a wide variety of expertise, then we do not need another medical or military background as these are already on the board. Whidbey General is planning to undertake several enormous construction projects, which will ultimately change the hospital’s physical structure and outpatient clinic and ambulance buildings as well as the Critical Access special reimbursement status.

Ron Wallin’s background in construction and financing contracts and his successful business experience will provide new talents and a well-rounded board. Currently the board is comprised of five members, three of whom have medical backgrounds and two with military backgrounds. The board needs to tend to the business of the hospital.

We need the additional talents that Wallin brings to the job: Business and construction, outstanding skills in financial resources and problem solving, deeply involved in many community projects, experience in managing large financial and construction projects, contract negotiations, excellent communication and people skills, long term community commitment

We need Ron Wallin as Hospital Commissioner.
